Zelensky vows to provoke 'wrath' over Russian forces in 2024
'Ukraine fights, it advances, it overcomes the path, it exists. And all together, this is not a New Year's miracle, nor a fairy tale, but the merit of each one of you," the Ukrainian leader declared´.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said in a New Year's message to the Ukrainian population that Russia will feel the wrath of the national production of its army's weapons, artillery and drones. Russian forces invaded Ukrainian territory in February 2022.
"Next year, the enemy will feel the wrath of domestic production. Our weapons, our equipment, artillery, our projectiles, our drones, our naval 'salutes' to the enemy, and at least one million Ukrainian FPV drones. On land, in the sky and, of course, at sea," Zelensky declared.
"And this year the enemy felt like never before: he has no place there. And our actions in the Black Sea have become a dark chapter in the history of the Russian fleet," the Ukrainian president added. For the Ukrainian leader, the main result of the year, the main achievement was the strengthening of Kiev. "Ukraine is alive. Ukraine lives. Ukraine is fighting, advancing, overcoming the path. Ukraine exists. And all together, this is not a New Year's miracle, nor a fairy tale, nor magic, but the merit of each one of you. Every one of the millions of Ukrainians. All those who throughout this year have proven day and night: Ukrainians are stronger!", pointed out Zelensky.
During the New Year's message, Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Ukrainian people and declared that he is proud of all nationals.
"I know how hard it is for everyone today. Everyone who put their lives on hold. That postponed everything until after the victory. Everyone who says, "I'm working and it's not a feat, but a duty. I'm donating and that's not a feat, but a norm."
Zelensky also urged allies to maintain support for Kyiv in the face of signs of growing international fatigue with the conflict. "Ukrainians are stronger than any intrigue, any attempt to diminish global solidarity, to undermine the coalition of our allies," he said.
Zelensky's statement came three days after Moscow's army carried out one of the largest attacks on several Ukrainian cities since the start of the conflict nearly two years ago, which left more than 30 dead and several wounded. On Saturday (30), Kiev responded to the Russian offensive by attacking Belgorod, with 24 deaths.
